The NGO offers consultancy and implementation services for environmental tasks including solid waste management, rain water harvesting, sewage treatment, tree planting and environmental upgradation of industrial sites. They also install biogas plants, rain water harvesting equipment and composting sites (Wet waste composting, vermicomposting, organic converters).
Environmental Greenliness started as a private company in the year 2000 and changed their status to NGO in 2012. Currently, they employ 11 staff, including engineers, botanists and computer technicians.
Environmental Greenliness believes in the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
The company has developed the following program for students: Accompanied by a staff member, you will visit several projects in the extended Mumbai area which have been implemented by Environmental Greenliness or which offer the potential for you to learn something relevant. You will be introduced into the problem and its solution and you will be given the chance to get feedback from the client and staff about the project that you should use to evaluate the project success, to detect potentially still existing difficulties, and to suggest solutions related to waste management, environmental upgradation, health and hygiene. You are expected to write short reports about each of your visits, which a professional company staff will review and discuss with you. You can define the focus of your work (e.g. technology, biology, economic efficiency).
