With us you will learn how to live comfortably in Germany and make the most of your Working Holiday year.
Description

Berlin’s Urban Charm

With its big-city vibe, exciting cultural scene, and pulsating multicultural energy, Berlin is undoubtedly one of Europe’s trendiest cities. Blending modern architecture with retro charm, a booming startup scene, street art, and a deeply rooted music and party culture, the German capital is a hotspot for creatives and a magnet for young people from all over the world.

Depending on your nationality, you can travel to Berlin with a Working Holiday Visa, Youth Mobility Visa, or visa-free entry and make use of our support. You can choose from different support packages tailored to your needs.

Farmstay in Germany

Join a volunteer-based farm stay, receiving free accommodation and meals in exchange for your work! This is a unique opportunity to explore different regions of Germany, meet locals, and learn about alternative and innovative agricultural concepts.

The farms we collaborate with welcome cultural exchange and consider you a guest!

Farm placements are available year-round. You'll help out for several hours a day, 5-6 days a week, and have 1-2 days off per week. No prior knowledge or work experience is required. There are often other international volunteers on the farms. The farms we work with are anything but boring! Here are a few examples:

Horse-Assisted Coaching and Therapies

A horse farm in Bavaria has 12 horses and offers horseback riding, horse-assisted personal mental training, and horse-assisted therapies, as well as the training of horses and riders. It also runs a guesthouse. You'll help with horse handling and all the activities and work that arise.

Organic Farm Based on the Principle of Community-Supported Agriculture

In the concept of community-supported agriculture (CSA), citizens who are members of the farm work there and, in return, regularly receive a share of the harvest. The small family farm practices organic agriculture and is Demeter-certified. In addition to keeping sheep, horses, chickens, and bees, vegetables such as beets, chard, kohlrabi, carrots, and beans are grown. To protect the soil, only hand and horse work are used for cultivation. Vegetables, eggs, sheep meat, honey, grain, and raw wool are produced.

Dairy Farm, Bakery, Farm Shop & Farm Café

The guiding principle of the farm is: Modern agriculture that not only serves profit but also the well-being of all people, animals, plants, and the earth. About 40-50 dairy cows are kept in spacious, modern stables, and there are also sheep, goats, and some donkeys, horses, pigs, and poultry. It's an association of several families who live and work on the farm, including their children. Volunteers participate throughout the year. Agricultural products such as milk or meat products are sold in a farm shop. In the farm café, visitors can taste the grown and produced products. There is also a garden and a park for visitors, as well as an on-site bakery.

Viticulture, Distillery, Craft Brewery, and Beekeeping

This farm practices organic viticulture. In the on-site distillery, brandies are also made from pome fruit, stone fruit, and berries. In addition, there is a craft brewery. The farm's beekeeping produces natural bee honey. The beehives are located amidst mixed flower and tree meadows, far from monocultures, which accounts for the honey's special aroma.

Small Farm on the Seewalde Peninsula

This farm is located on the Seewalde Peninsula in the Mecklenburg Lakeland. Surrounded by herb-rich meadows, nature reserves, and forests, arable farming, horticulture, and animal breeding (Angler Rotvieh cattle, Husumer Sattelschwein pigs, Highland cattle, sheep, poultry) are practiced, and milk and dairy products, eggs, and meat are marketed directly. The farm is run by an international and well-traveled couple.

Getting there

You travel to Berlin, Germany.

Visa

Depending on nationality, participation is possible without a visa, via Working Holiday Visa, or via Youth Mobility Visa. Please read the details under "Who Can Participate?".

Important: Although it is theoretically possible to obtain a Working Holiday Visa or Youth Mobility Visa in Germany through the Foreigners' Registration Offices, we strongly advise against it, as appointments there are very difficult to get and you will lose valuable time during which you are not allowed to work or may even have to leave the country before you get an appointment. Please obtain your Working Holiday/Youth Mobility Visa through the German embassies in your home country before traveling.

Accommodation Options

You can book accommodation through us, but you don't have to. As an extra, you can book accommodation in a high-quality studio apartment.
