Gilbert is a team member, providing support to our participants at Mother Nature Conservation Camp Kilimanjaro. He holds a Certificate in Environmental Conservation.
What did you do before starting your work at World Unite!?
I have been a mountain guide at Kilimanjaro since 2011, and I have also been working with the Jane Goodall Institute since 2012 as the coordinator at their Mweka site. Apart from that, I have also been doing tree planting with international schools from different countries.
What is your role at World Unite!?
I am the coordinator in Mweka Forest Camp.
What do you enjoy the most about working at World Unite!?
I enjoy sharing ideas with the different people from different countries.
What place at your location do you find most enjoyable to spend your leisure at?
I enjoy spending time at home e.g. working with my tree nursery.
What is your favorite local food, and where can it be found?
My favorite local food is banana and beans. The food is very common to have in the native in this area.
What should participants coming to your location make sure not to miss?
They should try to learn more about our location. Especially our language, and working together. Also, we learn more from them.
Do you have any hobbies or special interests, and where can you do your hobbies at your location?
My hobby is being an environmental teacher working with students in school and the community at the site.
