Description

The Korean Language Course

Our partner language school in Daegu is located in the very city center, within walking distance of the shared apartments for our participants. Classes take place in modern, attractively designed classrooms. The teaching methods are innovative, including the use of K-dramas in lessons, which not only helps teach the language but also provides insights into Korean culture and pop culture.

The focus of the lessons is on conversation, with reading and writing also included. Participants can choose the intensity of the classes: either twice or five times per week, with each session lasting 90 minutes.

Classes are conducted in small groups at various levels, from beginner to upper-intermediate. Participants who already have some knowledge of Korean and wish to start at a higher level must complete a placement test before starting the course. On the first day, their listening and speaking skills are also assessed to ensure they are placed in the right group.

In addition to the formal classes, the school offers daily Korean-English language exchange sessions at no extra cost. These sessions are held both in the morning and evening, lasting 2 hours each. During these exchanges, participants teach Koreans English and, in return, practice their Korean conversation skills.

Shared Accommodation in Daegu

Accommodation in Daegu is provided in a historic building in a very central location of Daegu, at walking distance from the language school and the city's main shopping and entertainment areas.

The building has 2 apartments for 6-share and 2 apartments for twin share (one bunk bed). In the case of accommodation in twin or dorm rooms, we try to separate by gender; however, this is not always possible and cannot be guaranteed. It is exclusively used for World Unite! participants. Each apartment has its own en-suit shower with toilet and kitchenette with fridge. Every resident has access of a private locker for their valuables. Each apartment also has its own washing machine.

There is a shared communal area on the ground floor, which has a living room with a large table, a kitchen, a toilet and a luggage storage room. Free WiFi is available at the shared areas. There is also a drinking water filter machine with hot and cold water.
