Description

Communication and Media Internship with a Nonprofit Organisation in Lisbon

Communication is essential for nonprofits to clearly convey their mission, values, and goals, and to attract supporters, donors, and partners. Effective communication builds trust, promotes transparency, and helps create an engaged community that supports the organization's success.

A communication and media internship with a nonprofit gives you the opportunity to contribute to such an organization and its mission while expanding your knowledge in communication and media.

We offer communication and media internships in Lisbon with various nonprofit organizations working in areas such as animal protection, food rescue, youth work, social work, and nature conservation. All organizations have experienced internship supervisors.

The internship is aimed at students and graduates in fields like marketing, communication, media studies, media design, or related areas. High school students aged 16 and above can also participate. Your exact tasks will depend on your level of knowledge and the needs of the organizations.

Your tasks as a Communication and Media Intern

Depending on your knowledge and interests, your tasks will vary. Possible areas of focus include:

Public Relations and Media Work:
Gain practical insights into writing press releases and building relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to increase awareness for nonprofit goals. You may also assist in organizing press events and developing media campaigns.

Communication:
Engage with partners, team members, or the general public to learn effective communication skills both internally and externally. You will apply communication strategies to real projects, support feedback processes, and help advance the objectives of nonprofits.

Marketing:
Participate in real marketing campaigns, gaining valuable insights into the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies. This includes analyzing target audiences, planning campaigns, and using tools to measure success.

Social Media:
Learn how to develop creative social media strategies and content that engage people and effectively showcase projects. This involves creating content calendars, analyzing social media statistics, and optimizing outreach.

Copywriting:
Improve your writing skills by creating compelling and clear texts. This could include blog posts, newsletters, or brochures that convey the organization’s message.

Web Content Management:
Dive into the world of web content management and learn how to design websites that leave a lasting impression. This involves web design and user experience to optimize nonprofits' online presence. Additionally, you’ll learn how to apply SEO strategies to increase content visibility.

Graphic Design:
Enhance your graphic design skills by creating visual content that supports the organization's message. This may include posters, infographics, or layouts for digital and print materials.

Video Production:
Expand your skills in video production and editing, creating content suitable for storytelling and promotion for nonprofit organizations. You can also develop your creative writing talent by crafting stories that resonate with audiences and authentically convey the organization’s values.

Alongside hands-on learning in an international environment, you will contribute positively to a nonprofit organization.

At the end of the internship, you will receive a certificate of completion.
