Internship
What does your internship company do, and what will your tasks be?
Malta is a highly industrialized nation and a production site for many international companies in areas such as electronics, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, toys, packaging materials, paper and printed products, and textiles. There are also large software and internet companies based in Malta. Malta Freeport is one of Europe's largest ports and a major logistics hub for container ships between Africa and Europe.
In Malta, we can organize engineering internships for students and recent graduates (up to one year after graduation) in engineering programs such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, aerospace engineering, and IT/network technology, as well as technical internships for apprentices in these same industries.
As an engineering intern in Malta, you might assist an engineer in monitoring and troubleshooting large industrial systems and adjusting machinery to changes in production. You may also focus on development tasks such as designing and constructing new machines and systems.
Apprentices in technical fields can also complete technical internships in the same industries. They typically shadow a professional technician or mechanic and assist in the installation and maintenance of production equipment. In addition to the industries mentioned above, technical internships are also possible in areas such as the installation and maintenance of elevators, commercial refrigeration units, solar systems, ships, port facilities, plumbing systems, and networks.
You will typically intern full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, at your internship placement.
Here’s how the application process works!
If you meet the requirements (For engineering internships: You are a student or recent graduate (within the last year) of a relevant engineering program; For technical internships: You are currently in training for a relevant technical trade or have completed it within the past year), then you can simply book online via this website and email us your CV and a motivation letter in English. We will then organize your internship. In some cases, there may be an online interview, for which we will prepare you.
