Malta as a Business Location
Despite its small size, Malta boasts a dynamic and diversified business environment that serves as a bridge between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Its stable political environment, EU membership, and business-friendly regulatory system make it an attractive destination for foreign investments.
The key sectors include financial services, iGaming, tourism, and real estate. The finance industry benefits from a well-regulated jurisdiction and tax incentives, while iGaming thrives due to the global reputation of the Malta Gaming Authority. Tourism, driven by Malta's rich history, culture, and pleasant climate, remains a central economic engine, fueling growth in hospitality and retail.
Emerging industries such as fintech, blockchain, pharmaceuticals, and aviation are gaining momentum in Malta, supported by innovative policies and strategic infrastructure investments. Malta’s maritime sector, backed by one of Europe’s largest ship registries, also significantly contributes to the economy. The government’s focus on education, skill development, and digitalization has positioned Malta as a forward-looking economy embracing opportunities in renewable energy and sustainable technologies. This creates a vibrant and adaptable business environment that fosters growth and innovation.
Internship in Business and Management in Malta
Through a business and management internship in Malta, you will gain valuable hands-on experience with a professional and dynamic company, actively participating in daily business operations.
Depending on your interests, you can focus on the following areas:
Marketing
As a marketing intern, you may assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies, creating content for social media, conducting market research, and analyzing campaign results. Additionally, you typically contribute to designing promotional materials, organizing events, and supporting digital marketing initiatives such as SEO and email campaigns.
Finance
In the finance sector, interns are typically involved in preparing financial reports, analyzing budgets, handling invoices, and supporting accounting tasks. You might also contribute to financial forecasting and gain insights into compliance with local and international financial regulations.
Human Resources (HR)
HR interns are often engaged in the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews. They may also support employee onboarding, maintain HR databases, and assist with training and development programs.
Sales
Sales interns often work on lead generation, and creating sales materials. They may also help maintain client relationships, track sales data, and support the team in achieving sales targets.
Retail
As a retail intern, you are often directly involved in a store’s operations, assisting with customer service, managing inventory, and arranging product displays. You may also support product selection, promotional measures, and the daily management of the store.
Customer Support
Customer support interns focus on handling customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They may also assist in documenting feedback, improving service processes, and providing product information.
You will work 30-40 hours per week and will have an academically trained supervisor with relevant professional experience to guide you throughout the internship.
Registration Process
If you meet the requirements (you are a highschool, college or university student or a vocational trainee in a business-related field, or have completed your education), you can book online via this website and email us your CV/resume and a motivation letter in English. We will then arrange your internship. In some cases, there will be an online interview, for which we will provide preparation assistance.
