    GROUP PROGRAM

Social Work and Education in Morocco

This program is arranged in cooperation with a Youth Club from Tangier. The guide, who speaks French, Spanish, English, and Arabic, has extensive experience in youth education and team-building activities. He also possesses a keen interest in and awareness of linguistic and cultural issues, such as power dynamics between the 'Global North' and 'Global South,' and interactions between the Islamic and Western worlds.

Learning is facilitated through age-appropriate games and play. Local youth from the club, who are a similar age to the visiting group, will participate in all activities, ensuring ongoing cultural exchange throughout the program. Furthermore, members of the Youth Club will serve as assistant guides, particularly when the main group divides into smaller sub-groups for activities.

Any duration from 1-14 days is possible. You can choose activities from below list.

We will visit the Perdicaris House, a small museum dedicated to this historical episode. Surrounding the house is a lush forest that hosts a large collection of unique plants from around the world. During our visit, we will go on a short hike through the forest. Along the way, we’ll take part in activities such as meditation, listening to the sounds of nature, and a forest clean-up to remove any litter we find.

  • Linguistic Workshop:  This workshop features interactive games based on the method of Language/Linguistic Animation, focusing on Arabic and the native language of the visiting group. Language animation is a non-formal educational approach that encourages communication, helps participants overcome language barriers, and inspires curiosity about new languages and cultures.

  • Treasure Hunt in the Old Kasbah of Tangier: The group will be divided into 2–3 mixed teams, each composed of foreign visitors and Moroccan youth club members. Each team will receive missions to complete in the historic kasbah of Tangier—for example, finding and recreating a photo of a specific sculpture, or identifying and locating an item in the market based on its Arabic name. This activity promotes cultural exchange, teamwork, and exploration of the city’s rich heritage.
