Describing India in a brief text is arguably even more challenging than attempting to depict Europe within a few lines. India is a subcontinent comprising 28 states, each profoundly distinct - it encompasses an immense variety of landscapes ranging from tropical forests to deserts to lofty mountains. With a population of 1.4 billion, the nation boasts 21 official languages, each with its own unique writing system. Ethnic diversity flourishes, spanning Indo-Aryans, Dravids, and indigenous tribes, alongside followers of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and other religions.
Moreover, there exists a fusion of Indian tradition with Western culture, a melding that commenced centuries ago through Portuguese and, particularly, British colonization. Factor in the huge socioeconomic differences within this emerging nation: In India, one encounters living conditions akin to the most impoverished developing countries alongside the high-tech and offerings characteristic of the most advanced global metropolises. Within India, 22% of illiterate individuals coexist alongside the world's most adept IT developers.
Our primary location in India is Jaipur, Rajasthan, where we arrange a wide range of internships, volunteering opportunities, and language programs. Additionally, we organize internships in Mumbai, Delhi, Dharamshala and various other cities and regions, many of which are also accessible as remote internships.
Rajasthan
Rajasthan is situated in the northwest of India and translates to "land of kings." Even predating our modern era, tribes established cities in this region, and mighty kingdoms emerged that endured until the British colonial period in the 19th century. Dominated by the landscapes of the Thar Desert and the Aravalli Mountains, which are adorned with forts and palaces of the Rajput princes, India's largest state by area showcases a rich historical legacy. Owing to its natural beauty and cultural treasures, Rajasthan has become one of the most popular travel destinations in India. Jaipur, a city within Rajasthan, forms part of the famous "Golden Triangle", encompassing the cities of Agra (home to the Taj Mahal), Delhi, and Jaipur.

Jaipur is renowned as the "Pink City" owing to the prevailing hue of its buildings. This city, home to 4 million residents, boasts a multitude of forts, palaces, and temples. Beyond its historical allure, Jaipur fosters an interesting alternative creative scene with trendy cafes, shops, and burgeoning enterprises. The city is also famed for its costume jewelry industry.
In Jaipur, we arrange a diverse array of volunteer work and internship opportunities, spanning areas such as social work, education, culture, medicine and nursing (including medical electives and Ayurveda), business, engineering, IT, design, and more. Additionally, we offer English and Hindi lessons.
We operate our own shared apartment for lodging in Jaipur, although staying with a host family is also an option. As a participant in the program, you can join our weekly cultural activities!

Jodhpur is renowned as the "Blue City" due to the distinctive hue of its buildings. This city, a popular destination for tourists, is dominated by the historic Meherangarh Fortress, perched atop a rock. Jodhpur also serves as the location of a university and is encircled by the Thar Desert.
In both Jodhpur and the desert villages of Setrawa and Viramdeogarh, you have the opportunity to engage in volunteer work or internships centered around education and empowerment, social work, or psychological support for children and women. Within the profoundly patriarchal rural society of the region, women, in particular, encounter barriers to education and participation in social activities.
