Volunteering - helping at charitable organisations 

 

Our volunteering options can be found in the menu selection on the top of this website under "Volunteering and Internships". 

 

For volunteering with charitable organisations, we don't charge anything. However, in this case the participant has to arrange all formalities (e.g. work permit), accommodation, domestic travel in the destination country etc. by himself or herself. You should only consider this option if you have already participated before in a similar volunteering activity in your country of choice and if you are  realistically confident that you don't need any assistance.

 

If you feel more comfortable to have a local contact person who can clarify any uncertainties prior to your trip, if you want to be picked up from the airport, if you wants to make sure that your accommodation is safe and neat, and if you don't want to get into trouble with the local immigration authorities, then we recommend you to book our trouble-free package. Many other conveniences are part of the package.  

How it works - without the trouble-free package

 

You inform us about your choice of volunteer activity and you tell us when your want to do it. You send us your CV (resumé) - for Tanzania, Zanzibar, Israel and India in English, for Morocco in French and for Nicaragua in Spanish. We will check whether the volunteer activity is available for you and if so, we will give you the project's contact information.

 

However we will not offer any further services in this case. You will have to find accommodation, information about formalities (e.g. work permit, visa), domestic travel in your country of choice etc. yourself. Several directors of the charitable organisations we are cooperating with have informed us that they don't really have the time to arrange such things for volunteers and to provide extensive pre-arrival communication with them. The time they will spend on such help will be missing from their actual NGO work.

 

Therefore we are asking anyone who does not have any experience with arranging a volunteer stay in his or her country of choice to book our trouble-free package rather than giving that burden of work to the charitable organisation.

Only if you accept the suggestions we give you, you will book our trouble-free package. You will then get the full services which are part of the trouble-free package, prior to, during and after your stay.
