Sculpturing school – carving, sculpturing, casting
The
sculpturing school, a non-for-profit charitable foundation teaches all
forms of plastic arts such as wood carving, stone sculpturing, pottery,
metal and concrete casting. Traditional African as well as modern
styles and techniques are taught. Besides the plastic arts subjects
being taught are English, marketing and entrepreneurship.
It is the aim of the school to give talented individuals a professional
training which enables them to produce „art“ and not just „souvenirs“.
The graduates should be in a position to advance Tanzanian Art and to
market it successfully.
Volunteers should have advanced skills in one or several of the taught
– or related – techniques and should be able to communicate them to the
pupils.
