These volunteering options are possible at various centres such as Msamaria Centre or Kilimanjaro Orphanage in Moshi/Kilimanjaro or Mwema Centre in Karatu.

The task consists in caring for the children and be there for them. At some centres you will deal with the children who live in the centre only, at other centres there will also be children who live somewhere else and only attend the centre during daytime.

Volunteers will play with the children, do activities with them (for instance playing educational radio plays from audio cassettes, dance, theatre, sports) and assist the children in all ways such as helping with their homework, personal hygiene, eating with them, supervising and instructing them about their daily duties. It is highly appreciated if you can prepare non-cost activities such as games by yourself.

If you want to help, the centres have always the need of volunteers who can also assist with communications and PR (replying to emails and letters, writing texts in English and other foreign languagnes about the centre to be used to raise awareness for the centre, e.g. in a blog, internet forum, website, printed flyer etc.).
