The House of Culture of León is a private institution offering a variety of cultural lessons and activities.
Every February, a one-year course financed by the "Intituto Nicaraguense de Cultura" starts with lessons every Saturday and Sunday. The subjects being taught are dance (with around 100 participants), theatre (25 participants) and music (30 participants). For each subject, there are 2 groups, one for children and youth aged 8-17 years, and one for young adults aged 18-30 years.
Volunteers with relevant skills and experiences can support the local teachers at any moment during the year.
Additionally, the House of Culture offers private lessons and lessons for small groups paying a monthly fee. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, there is Salsa, painting & drawing, ballet and taekwondo. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays there are guitar lessons. Volunteers of these subject areas can provide lessons, but they can also train the local instructors/teachers to improve their skills.
Participants of World Unite! who want to participate in these classes as students can contact us the directly the House of Culture. The start of private classes is possible at any moment.
The House of Culture is open during the whole year, except for Easter (Semana Santa).
