This new standard-category safari camp is located in the Ikoma Open Area, North-East of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, not far from the border to Kenya and a 4 hours drive to Lake Victoria. The camp is situated on a rocky inselberg protruding high over the surrounding savannahs. Twice a year, the world-famous migration of wildebeest takes place at these savannahs, when two million wildebeest and zebras - followed by hungry predators migrate between the Massai Mara and the Serengeti (August - October). However, throughout the year the area is particularly full of wildlife.

The camp is operated by a leading safari tour operator of Tanzania. It is used as a base for game drives in the Serengeti, and for hiking safaris and night game drives in the Grumeti Area. The camp has 10 spacious tents with toilet and showers and 7 bandas (traditional round huts of the Massai), as well as a thatched-roof reception and restaurant building with a kitchen that also prepares lunch boxes for safari tourists.

The same operator also runs a basic campsite which is not far from this camp. It has grounds for small mobile camps, sanitary installations and its own restaurant building. 

As an intern, you can help in all areas of the camp, such as with the preparation of the camp for arriving groups, welcoming guests and customer support, purchase and planning of food and supplies, preparation and implementation of activities such as bush lunches and excursions, and assisting with the further development of the new camp and activities in the area.

As an intern you will be accommodated in the camp. The village of Mugumu is at a distance of around 2 km (1.5 miles). The owner of this camp has further hotels and camps in Tanzania. Therefore it is also possible to intern at other locations in Tanzania such as at a new safari hotel next to the world famous Ngorongoro Crater.
