Nungwi is a lively town at the northernmost tip of Zanzibar. The place is particularly popular amongst young people. The "Full moon" parties are legendary; they almost have the chilled out atmosphere of Ibiza. As Nungwi is located on a narrow peninsula in the very North of the island, the difference between low tide and high tide is not so huge like on other places of the island. Therefore swimming in the sea is most of the time possible. Kendwa Beach, a tropical paradise beach can be reached from Nungwi by foot or with a sailing dhow. This beach is popular amongst divers and beach volleyballers.

The internship takes place at a hotel which is located quietly at the end of the village settlements in the uttermost Northern point of Nungwi (and Zanzibar), right next to the lighthouse and a sea turtle sanctuary. However it is only a short walk to reach the centre of town. The rooms  are located in bungalows which are spread over a tropical garden. The hotel is managed by locals and has its own beach, a restaurant, a new pool with juice bar, and arranges excursions such as sailing dhow cruises fishing tours and snorkelling tours at a coral reef. As an intern you can work in all departments of the hotel. The hotel offers a room in the employee accommodation building.
