In Jaipur we can arrange an internship in an international business research and consulting company. In addition, the company operates its own industrial park for food processing, an IT department, a franchise system of training centers as a mentoring and incubator program for start-ups. As an intern, you can gain insights into numerous economic aspects. The internship is possible with or without previous experience!

Business internship in India
The economy of India is the world's sixth largest and with an annual growth of 7% the world's fastest growing economy amongst the bigger nations. Due to the young population's high educational level it can be expected that India will become the third largest economic power in the world within less than the next 10 years. When it comes to the total number of start-up companies, India already by now holds the third place worldwide. The leading Indian economic sectors are the service industry, IT, automobile industry, retail and e-commerce.
The business internship with the research and consulting company will give you detailed insights into different business areas. You will work with various employees of the company and you will also receive one hour of feedback and tutoring per week by Mr. Gupta, the Managing Director.
The minimum age for the internship is 18 years. Interns are expected to be seriously interested to learn as much as possible, and they should be disciplined and willing to work for 8-9 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Internships are possible for interns without any previous experience who are sufficiently motivated, but also for students and graduates. Your tasks will be adjusted to your level of expertise. The internship is not remunerated.
Business Research & Consulting
The company conducts business research on behalf of the Government of India, international organizations and private companies, and produces reports which are used for policy making, feasibility studies, and planning and development of infrastructure and technology.
Examples include an economic assessment of the quality of the public education system of Rajasthan, market analyses for the Austrian and Hungarian chambers of commerce in India, as well as a market analysis and evaluation of the development potential of the Indian food processing industry.
For research and consulting, the company has about 20 full-time employees in Jaipur who have degrees in economics and engineering. In addition, the company has a network of hundreds of freelancers from a wide range of industries who are hired for research projects as needed.
As an intern, you will work as part of the research and consulting team and your tasks usually include collection and analysis of data.
Franchise system for training and education centers
The company has developed a franchise system and is the franchisor of training and education centers in several states of India that are offering short-term courses from various fields such as IT, e-commerce, marketing, and personality development. The courses are targeting university graduates who want to improve their skills and chances on the job market. There are currently around 200 franchisees operating such educational centers. The company manages the educational content and organizational structure of the centers.
As an intern, you can work on administrative tasks related to the operation of the franchise system.
IT Department
The company operates the Saksham Erp department in the Jaipur IT Park, which currently employs 14 programmers who develop IT solutions for customers. The company has also developed a specialised CRM system for the real estate industry, licensing it to companies from the sector.
As a business intern, you will communicate and work with the programmers of Saksham Erp depending on the project. Saksham Erp also offers IT internships in front-end and back-end web development (php, mySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery).
KPO Park Start-Up Mentoring
The internship company in cooperation with the Technical University of Rajasthan runs a mentoring and incubator program for start-up companies named "KPO Park". The co-working space "Biz Launch" is available in the IT Park of Jaipur. Young entrepreneurs additionally can get advice from Kamtech and professors of the university related to strategic management, technology, marketing and finance.
The program is open to all types of companies, but focuses on renewable energies, technology and IT. One company, for instance, that has joined the program and that is successful now, has developed a low-cost, easy-to-install shock-protector device that prevents power-line accidents in homes and on construction sites that often occur in India due to unprofessional installations.
As an intern, you can gain insights into the various start-ups and work with them on business-related tasks.
Greentech Mega Food Park
The company operates the Greentech Mega Food Park near Kishangar Airport (130km from Jaipur), a modern 360,000m2 / 90 acre industrial facility for processing and packaging vegetables, fruits and grains. There are cold stores, freezers, silos and processing and packaging machines for rent to small and medium-sized food companies. Businesses are also helped to receive funding from the Government of India.
If you are interested, you can visit the Food Park and inform yourself about the resident companies and the underlying business concepts.

A maximum of 12 participants are sharing the apartment, staying at shared rooms (4-share), which are separated by gender. The apartment furthermore has 2 bathrooms with a hot and cold shower, a kitchen, a communal space with fridge and cable TV, a balcony, and a rooftop. There is free Wifi.
There are 2 rooms with air conditioning and one without. There is an extra charge for the rooms with air conditioning. Temperatures in Jaipur are high between March and October.
3 Indian meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are served at the house and are included in the rent. At least once per week an activity is offered to our participants in Jaipur at no extra cost, such as Indian dance, cooking lessons, Yoga, or Hindi lessons. The house manager Pooja (who on the pictures is wearing a yellow t-shirt) also stays at the apartment and is your contact person.

II. Accommodation Costs
Accommodation at shared serviced apartment (2-share to 4-share dorm) on full board, incl. wifi OR with host family (twin or triple room) on full board: 75 EUR/week.
Supplement for rooms with air conditioning: EUR 12.50 per week.
Single room at a host family has a supplement of 35 EUR per week.
Single room at guest house on full board: 27 EUR per night.
Full board means 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Indian food.
Overview of other costs:
- Visa around 60-130 EUR (75-160 USD) depending on activity and duration; to apply prior to your travel
- Small local expenses (Internet, Local Transport): ca. 20-40 EUR (30-50 USD)/Month (Estimate)
- Insurances around 20-40 EUR (30-50 USD)/Month
How do I pay?
Once all your questions have been answered and you confirm that you want to participate, we will email you an invoice. You can pay it via bank transfer, credit card or via Paypal. You will pay a deposit of 200 EUR / 250 USD when the invoice is issued. One months prior to your arrival you will pay the remainder for your Service Package.
The payment modalities for rent and possible further costs (e.g. internship supervision fees, as stated in info box of the respective project description) depend on your host country and placement. We will inform you beforehand. In many cases these costs are paid on site, but for some countries and placements they need to be paid partially or fully in advance.

Rajasthan - The Land of the Kings
Rajasthan is located in the North-West of India and means "Land of the Kings". More than 2500 years ago, tribes built cities, and kingdoms were formed, which existed until the British colonial time in the 19th century. The largest state of India, in terms of area, is determined by the landscapes of the Thar Desert and the Aravalli Range, which are rich in forts and palaces of the Rajput kings. Due to its natural beauty and cultural heritage, Rajasthan is today, one of India's most popular travel destinations. Jaipur is part of the so-called "Golden Triangle", consisting of the cities of Agra (Taj Mahal), Delhi and Jaipur, which is part of every round trip in northern India.

Jaipur is known as the "Pink City" due to the dominant color of its buildings. The 3 million-people city has numerous forts, palaces and temples. Jaipur is also known for its jewelry industry. More than 14,000 people produce jewelery made of metal, stone and rubber lacquer, typically at small backyard workshops, which are sold all over the world.
Jodhpur is called the "blue city" due to the colour of its houses. The city is overlooked by the mighty Meherangarh Fort. There is also a university in Jodhpur.
Setrawa is a village in the Thar desert, located around 100 km north of Jodhpur. A problem in Rajasthan is the scarcity of water. In the Thar desert, the only annual rains pour down in the form of heavy thunderstorms during the months of July to September, when temperatures normally go up to 50 degree Celsius. Traditionally, the water of these hot summer months are stored in ponds that are the shape of a half moon, called Johad. In the patriarchal society of the rural regions, women are denied access to education and social life.

Recreational Activities in Rajasthan
Jaipur and Jodhpur can count with a large number of forts, palaces, temples, historical and natural history museums, and gardens and parks that you can visit. At both cities you can also take part in yoga classes, cooking lessons, Indian dance session, and join other cultural activities.
It is of course also recommended to travel around other parts of Rajasthan.

Jaipur: Jaipur has a large international airport. It is best if you book your flight directly there. From Jaipur Airport (JAI) our local team will pick you up and bring you to your accommodation in Jaipur.
Jodhpur: You book a flight to Jodhpur (JDH) where you will be picked up from the airport by our local team and taken to your accommodation in Jodhpur.
Setrawa: You will book a flight to Jodhpur (JDH) where you will be picked up from the airport by our local team. You willI spend the first 1-2 days in Jodhpur, where you get an introduction and will then be driven to Setrawa.
