Veterinary at Kilimanjaro
The private veterinary surgery in the centre of Moshi town is being operated by two vets. Around 80% of their work is carried out treating livestock on farms and in the fields. The main animals being treated are cows, pigs, chicken, goats and donkeys.
The remaining 20% of the vets working time are spent at the surgery where they treat domestic animals and pets such as dogs and cats. Wild African animals are not being treated by them as this falls under the responsibility of the National Park authorities only.
Besides operating the surgery, they also sell animal food, animal accessories and animal medicines.Internships and volunteering is possible for participants with and without any previous experience.
